WHO WE ARE

We believe that we must support "intelligent" wild fisheries while promoting aquaculture as a realistic means to support growing seafood needs. For over 35 years, Far Hills Seafood has been a reliable source for sustainable seafood while educating the community we service in order to support the full supply chain. While “sustainability” and “local” weren’t trending terms when our story began in the 1980’s, those were words we incorporated in our everyday operations as commonsense practices to ensure the longevity of our food sources, industries, communities we live in and ultimately our company.


WHERE WE CAME FROM

Far Hills Seafood opened its doors in 1982, transporting fish from the tri-state seafood hub, Fulton Fish Market in the Bronx, to local NJ restaurants. As the focus continued to be on fresh and sustainable seafood, we became the first company to begin importing farmed salmon from Scotland - renowned for extreme quality and emphasis on minimizing the environmental impact of their operations.


WHAT WE BELIEVE

"Sustainability" means sustainable for everyone in the seafood supply chain. It should not single out any group of people/fish to protect another group of people/fish, as long as they are operating within regulations and ethical conducts.


 WHAT IS OUR FUTURE

 There are plenty of "seafood polices" out there, but not enough "educators." We thrive to be the one. Through the education and information we provide our customers, awareness and responsibility help change the demands and requirements of how our food is sourced. As sources of protein become an issue, we take on the responsibility to educate our restaurants and suppliers in order to make an impact on sustaining a bountiful supply of food from our environment.
